About us
03

Presence over polish.

Afterglow Studio is a visual, welcoming space for people who find clarity through dance in the United States.

We are interested in the details around a practice: the first step, the shape of a pause, the way light changes across a floor. The language stays open and neutral, leaving room for many styles.

Three studio cues.

Simple prompts for a session that feels composed without feeling rigid.

01

Arrive

Notice the floor, the distance between bodies and the first sound in the room.

02

Trace

Follow one line through space and let the gesture stay easy to read.

03

Release

End with a softer shape and carry the rhythm into the rest of the day.

Studio note

Shape, light, breath.

Let one idea guide the room. A gesture can be small and still create a strong visual line. A pause can be part of the choreography.

Choose music, silence or a counted phrase — whichever helps you stay present with the movement.

Our approach to practice.

Open

Make space for different bodies, styles and ways of learning.

Textured

Notice contrast: stillness and speed, shadow and color, weight and lift.

Unhurried

Give the phrase enough time to become clear before asking it to grow.

Notes from people who enjoy the atmosphere as much as the movement.

“The page reminds me that a dance session can be both focused and spacious.”

— Avery, New York

“I like the attention to light, lines and the small details between phrases.”

— Cameron, Minnesota
